Over the years, I’ve often imagined what life must be like for someone closely related to an iconic star. Living under the perhaps oppressive shadow of a heavy surname. Always having to watch one’s public opinions so as not to say anything compromising about their famous relative. All of these assumptions were shattered the moment I had the honour and pleasure of meeting the sister of my undisputed idol, Steve – the lovely Linda. I had the good fortune of meeting her twice, both times at the Rock On The Road venue in Desio, and I was genuinely and pleasantly surprised.

I saw a shy, very humble woman. She never once brought up the importance of her last name. Visibly similar to her brother in appearance, she immediately made me feel at ease, chatting about food or the beauty of Italy. My initial awe quickly melted away thanks to her warm and genuine smile. I gave her a copy of my book, and she kindly thanked me – something I truly appreciated.

Both meetings were wonderful experiences. A woman who never acted like a star, always open to a good and honest chat. I’ll end with a special thank-you to a truly special woman.
